Students Are Not Unjustly Denied Admission In Choice Institution – JAMB

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has rebuffed the idea that Nigerian students are unjustly denied admission. JAMB believe that admission procedures are done fair and square by tertiary institutions in the country and debunked such claim of unfairness. If a candidate scores 180 in the UTME with 5 C6 in WAEC at two sittings and another candidate applying to the same school for the same course scores 260 and has 3 A1 and 2 B2 at one sitting, who would admission be most certain for?

The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin had this to say, ” the board would ensure that Nigerian children were not unjustly denied admission in any institution of their choice”.

”We have ensured that the admissions are done in line with the set rules and regulations as provided by the Federal Government and the various institutions”.

“We are aware that the function of admission of candidates is solely the job of the Senates of institutions and what we do as a board is to see the guidelines used in admitting the candidates and ensure ratification. We are passionate about ensuring that no candidate that meets any of the admission rules and guidelines as provided by both the institution and government is denied admission for whatever reason,’’

He also added that the names of candidates that had satisfactorily met the admission rules and regulations of the institutions and that of the Federal Government would be uploaded soon.
