Once upon a time, a child will not stop damaging things in the house, his father watching him from far will give no gesture, the child’s intention was that the spoilt object should be repaired immediately but will receive a negative response from his father. Angrily the child will protest but still will not receive answer from his father, this is the case of our comrades in Obafemi Awolowo University

I remember vividly when I see some comrades with placards, online protest, clamouring for better welfare and development in the school especially halls of residence, tagged “fighting for students”. A coin battle, on one side was the “comrades” and the other was the “oppressors” as tagged by the comrades. Their aim was to called the oppressors to be responsible without checking the level of responsibility in them. A scenario of pot calling kettle black.

Comrades who have lost their integrity in a twinkle of an eye, comrade who cannot defend the cause of what they are fighting for, all for one thing, POWER {political post}

The same hostels comrades are protesting for the renovation are the same hostels they are defacing with posters; the wall of same hostels comrades want the oppressors to beautify are same wall of hostels they are uglifying by their awareness of political post


Why did you lose your integrity so easily comrades? Why do we have notice board in all halls of residence? What message are you passing to the generation of Great Ife Students to come with this act? Its high time we stopped thinking what the oppressors can offer us and start thinking what we can offer our community, Great Ife Community as individuals. Maintain your integrity before you "PREserve to preside" or before you "PROpelling saint in OAU SU".
