Sequel to the postponement of the Congress earlier slated and planned for 7th to June  13th  by in a release endorsed by the President of the Students' Union, Oyekan Ibukun and Secretary General, Boluwajaye Adeoluwa Fynesboi.Students have poured out their grievances about the sudden change and want to know the reason behind it.

Most students of the institution have therefore reacted to this development.A student of department of English, Ismail Jemilat who was quoted saying "The Union leadership is killing my morale for unionism"

Another students who spoke under the condition of anonymity said that the Union leaders are only working on permutations and manipulations that will not help the students but their personal interest .

Speaking with the Secretary General of the Union, Boluwajaye Adeoluwa, after citing some part of the sacrosanct constitution of the Union told our reporter that the  President of the Union has the authority to call Congress.

The Secretary General told us that he only discharged his duty that the President, Oyekan Ibukun gave him some excuses which includes : "Inauguration of the new Vice Chancellor on the 7th of June, he wants VC to be available, he sees having congress on the date one of the sponsoring authorities of the Union is been inaugurated as a disregard and disrespect and therefore new date for Congress shall be Tuesday, 13th of June. I told him to inform the PRO, so he can go around halls to make announcement, which he said the PRO is already aware, so  I am surprised.", the Secretary General of the Union said.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Union, Okediji Simon Zuma and the Assistant Secretary General, Oyebanjo Oluwaseun Siewen, have said they know nothing about the postponement.

In the words of Zuma, he said: "it's is unfortunate that I was never part of the meeting where the postponement was decided. At this point in time, we must then begin to ask questions why we can't hold our Congress as planned. Postponing the much anticipated Congress will only succeed in subjecting us to hot criticism and the gradually waning kg people's interest in the union.", Zuma wrote.

Also, the ASG, Oyebanjo Oluwaseun Siewen , told our reporter that "The reasonable reasons behind this postponement till now they've not been able to state rationally. Their arguments up till now they've not been able to substantiate. I can be quoted anywhere. I know nothing about the postponement and will never even support the idea of the postponement considering so many things. In fact, despite the fact that I work in the secretariat of our Great Union and for this reason the secretariat is practically in fact, the chief convener of any GREAT IFE STUDENTS' UNION CONGRESS, I didn't get to know or even hinted about the postponement not until I was online last night and started seeing the broadcast of postponement on various group pages. It is very ridiculous", Siewen said.
