JACOB T. GRACE
The Vice President of Union who was functioning as an Acting President has been suspended by the Parliament after she was proven to have committed a number of offenses ranging from constitutional aberration, procedural error and negligence of duty, with respect to the Freshers' Orientation Programme she organized, at a Parliamentary Sitting which was held at the level of Awo Café in the evening of 13th July, 2017.
The motion was moved by Hon. Aren during the course of the Parliamentary sitting.
It should be noted that the Parliamentary Sitting at which she was suspended was a call from a protracted recess occasioned by the sudden disruption of the last Parliamentary Sitting where Oyekan Ibukun Edward and Omisakin Kehinde were suspended as President and Financial Secretary respectively for two weeks for purchasing a bus without carrying the Parliament along.
The two motions moved by parliamentarians included:
1. That she should be suspended for 10 working days and her budget for Freshers' Orientation Programme be reviewed by the Budgetary and Finance Committee
2. That she should write an apology letter and her budget for Freshers' Orientation Programme be reviewed by Budgetary and Finance Committee
The votes cast for the two motions were 30 and 27 respectively. On this note, she was suspended for 10 working days.
