There is something in us that should have started long ago, but we give excuses of not having the perfect time, whereas if you are waiting for the perfect time to get things done, you would get nothing done. The little we have today might not be there anymore; the resources you have today might not be available tomorrow; the time you have today might not be available anymore
We always want to wait till tomorrow before we start that great thing we have in us or before we do what is expected of us, but we should think is "do we have tomorrow or another today" One of the greatest challenge of our age, in which the tools of our productivity is also the tools of our leisure is to figure out how to make more useful those moments of procrastination. Many valued days, weeks, months and years has been wasted because of procrastination
Wayne Gretzky indicates that “procrastination is one of the deadliest of diseases and it's toll on success and happiness is heavy”. It is also an assassin of one's ideas, opportunity & success.
Factors that lead to procrastination
Cowardice: Thinking that you are not capable of handling or starting a task, get up now and start, drive away fear and summon the courage to face it
Laziness: Having a feeling of weakness to do something, thereby delaying it
Triviality: Counting some things as unimportant at your leisure time, you might later find it important at your assiduous time
Friends: Inability to activate the habit of solitude from friends to get important things done
Gadgets (phones, tablets etc): A major factor, the trending world of social media has caused great damage and benefit to this world, procrastination is part of the damage it has caused. You have to reduce lengthy hours you spend on browsing and focus on important things you “ought” to do
Scottish will say “what may be done at anytime may be done at no time" it will be of great benefit if we put an end to the evil genius of procrastination by discipline ourselves activating the attitude of do it now. Then you will see the sudden appearance of the “SPIRIT OF PRODUCTIVITY” accompanied by success, happiness, peace etc.
