STUDENTS FIDGET ON UNCERTAINTY OF SOLIDARITY STRIKE FOR EX-VC

Owing to the press release by ASUU National body to disassociate self from the two-day solidarity strike for OAU erstwhile Vice Chancellor which resulted into misinterpretation and uncertainty among the students of the university and where seen this morning fidgeting from one lecture theatre to the other so as not to miss any of their lectures and placing calls as regards the strike.

The Students' Union addressed the issue by mobilising its members to lecture theatres in order to boycott lectures and tests.

In a phone conversation this morning with the PRO of the S.U, Zuma: he said

"All we are doing is in solidarity with the erstwhile VC. It is peculiar to OAU alone not nationwide. We have started mobilising to lecture theatres. No class will hold, tests have been cancelled."

"As a matter of fact, wherever any class is holding students should contact us, we will go there and cancel it. Students should not be at the receiving end of Asuu's division. What we are doing is to save the head of our students and we will not want anything that will be detrimental to their academic. What S.U is doing is to ensure that no class holds between Monday and Tuesday. Once we get any information that a class is holding we will go there."

We there by encouraged the students to disregard any news about the commencement of classes between Monday and Tuesday as proper measure is in place to stop any lecturer that might want to defile the order.

The student union leaders therefore reaffirmed the truthfulness of the two-day solidarity strike by sending press release across social media and thus told students to contact them if any lecture holds.
