The Student's Union of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University massively took a step as the Union's transportation system started operation last Saturday. This was said by the Public Relations Officer of the Union.




The Public Relations Officer of Obafemi Awolowo University, Great Ife Students' Union, Okediji Simon popularly known as 'Zuma', has said the students union bus has began full operation.

He made this known in a press release made available to our reporter that the cardinal interest of the Union is to live up to the standard of the an ideal Students' Union where the improvement in the general welfare conditions of the students


Okediji Simon on a release,  said the Union bus is to respond to the level of hardship that the students are been confronted with in the area of transportation.

Part of the release read: "As it stands, the union has succeeded in buying a fourteen-seater bus which has commenced full operation within the Campus. While a single bus is not sufficient to solve the totality of our challenges with respect to deficient transportation on campus, we shall remain devoted and committed towards ensuring a compliance to the agreement between the students' union and the commercial bus drivers", he said.

He further buttressed that on the agreed transport fares to avoid gross exploitation of students.

He finally promised students that the Union will keep working on the sustainable ways to overcome transportation challenges as soon as possible.
